A Little Child Shall Lead Them

A second grader came to club after the Easter weekend. She was so excited to tell the Good News Club teacher that she and her sister saw three crosses in a field on the way to Florida and on the way back. The teacher said, “Wow! That’s wonderful!” The little girl said, “We started clapping when we saw them, and my daddy said it was nothing to be happy about...but I told daddy when we see them crosses we have everything to be happy about, because them crosses get us to heaven!”

Church Partnership…

One of our partnership churches, Mt. Olive Baptist, has involved all ages of their church in ministering to the Good News Club in the local elementary school. Lavonda Reece, Club Coordinator, says, “It’s like having another congregation. It is more than the children. It’s being involved with their mothers, fathers, grandparents...whole families. Good News Club opens doors to many hurting homes...fighting, separation, divorce, financial pressures, abuse, sickness, etc. Being involved in Good News Club opens so many opportunities.”

Impacting A Generation to Know God!

Thousands of children across the state of Georgia in more than 40 counties attend a Christian based club called Good News Club. A large percentage of these children do not attend church regularly or have never even been inside a church. It is a life-changing experience to witness the hunger these children have to know God and see their desire to learn His Word. In one of the clubs the children began to make the backpacks into a cross that are usually dropped on the floor into a pile. One of the children exclaimed, "Look at the cross!" There were over 90 children in this club and a sudden hush came over the group as they gathered around the "backpack cross" on the floor. To the children, the cross had became a symbol of hope, forgiveness and love! Since then, every week for over a year different children have taken turns making the "backpack cross."

Children in Good News Clubs are being impacted with the life-changing message of the cross! Because of the privilege of sharing the Gospel in public schools, a new generation of those who know, love, and desire God are being raised up! The impact of these children will be felt even by the generations to come.

Praise God with us and rejoice at the power of the cross in the lives of the children in public school Good News Clubs.
